New Wikipedia Entry

There is nothing in Google or Wikipedia about this, so I have now created an entry for Solar Earth Charging .
Unfortunately, Wikipedia keep threatening to delete it. If one provides too much information they say it constitutes advertising, and if I provide too little, they say that more information is required to back it up.
'Solar charging' does already appear in google referring to plugging electric cars into solar powered charges. 'Solar earth charging' more correctly describes the activity of Charging the Earth.
If they do delete it, I shall just have to be patient and restore the entry in a year's time, when Wikipedia accept that such a thing can exist, once it has been running for a year and there have been some articles about it.

  2. Is there such a thing as Votestacking? I am just trying to maintain the definition. There are other things in Wikipedia which are descriptions of theories or concepts.

  3. asking people to support the entry is votestacking. Other theories aren't made-up original research by a PhD student.

  4. Hahah.. so Solar thermal panels are Made Up are they? Ground source heat pumps are Made Up? But as you are posting only as Anonymous, it is not possible to discuss it with you unless you are prepared to state your interest. Also... this proposal is supported at the most senior level of the sustainable energy technologies academic pyramid.

  5. They're not made up, but the idea of combining them in this way seems to be considering you yourself feel that "we don't think this has been done before"

  6. You need to take a look at the Wikipedia notability guidelines: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability. Unless a topic has received "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", it doesn't meet the criteria for inclusion on Wikipedia. Since you haven't provided any references, it is likely to be deleted.

  7. I think things always improve if they are challenged rigorously, and your comments have helped, even though there is still an undercurrent of disagreeableness in there - you don't seem to recognise that I am trying to do something good and necessary if the UK is to meet its targets of carbon zero in 2016.

  8. And at the moment funding it myself. I am not a student, I am an academic. The idea has been tested in a test rig by the company who supply the heat pump (but if I mention them I am accused of advertising). The WSSET (who you can google for) are supporting my project. All I am doing is combining two existing ideas, in the way that Benz combined a static engine with a horse drawn carriage. But you are right that there have not wide discussion of the proposal, but i wonder why as it is so very obvious, and low cost.

  9. I am glad to see that the concept is being discussed, but I hadnt been able to find the right combination of words before... I have now found it:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_thermal_store
As a phrase this isnt very catchy, and the people I have discussed it with refer to it as 'Solar Charging' (these are ones who had already had the idea but not built a full size version).
